After a gruesome discovery is made the Cold Case Squad is summoned to the scene. Boyd connects the crime to a series of unsolved murders. The team is forced to use all of its resources to stop the killer before he strikes again. The strain of the case threatens to burn bridges between two team members but will love rise from the ashes?

Detective Superintendent Peter Boyd rushes to the hospital emergency room when the Cold Case Squad suffers a devastating blow. Could the intensity of the team's off hours prove to be a greater threat to them than the criminals they chase?

The Cold Case Squad is called in when a man on a nearby Army base is murdered in the same way a soldier was murdered 24 years ago. Meanwhile, the team are having to cope with the arrival of two new team-mates.

A discovery at a comprehensive school takes the Cold Case Squad to a small town in Kent. Although their stay is only supposed to last for a couple of days the place has a lasting effect on one of the team and leads to the uncovering of a much bigger case than they had originally envisaged.

The Shepherd has been talking to young women, controlling them. The Cold Case Squad is on its heels, with their suspect almost firmly behind bars. But what happens when one member can't afford to wait for backup? Does this mean the end, or the beginning of a new chapter?

When a body is found and then another the team are called to find the truth and while their search leads them to the two friends all finally realise they have all been lead down the wrong path. When the truth finally comes out will the team be able to save the day? Will the two friends survive no matter what? And will Boyd finally find what he is looking for?
